The “Synergy Approach” to Health

Recently Synergy Health Chiropractic has added a new addition to the team of health professionals. Bernadette Lueck and Scaling Down  joined the Synergy Health team. The “Synergy Approach” is something like no other. Before explaining the Synergy Approach, we have to answer some really tuff but simple questions. Why would you want to address your nervous system, chemical system and physical system together synergistically? When looking at Chiropractic, there is never anything introduced from the outside in. The nervous system and brain are our master controls of the body. It is housed by an amazing structure called the spine and skull. Within every segment of our 24 vertebrae there are nerves flowing out to the body to control every process. It is pretty amazing to think that I can think about my beautiful wife and my nervous system will respond by making me smile, and talk to my heart to beat a little faster. In the same way we can create negative responses when thinking negative, hold bad posture, take in processed foods and so on. Chiropractic works in facilitating that nervous system. When there is dysfunction, negative responses or misalignment in the spine called a subluxation, it is up to Chiropractic to find and realign that system. This is only but a piece of the puzzle, however. The foods we eat create energy, deals with inflammation, nourish injured tissue and help our body fight off foreign intruders. A good example of how this works is athletic recovery. I have worked with Olympic and professional athletes, and what I have learned is they take their food almost as...

Synergy Live #3 – Low Back Pain

Synergy Live #3 – Low Back Pain

Dr. Kyle Knox, DC CCSP – Westlake Village CA. Low Back Pain SYNERGY LIVE #3 – LOW BACK PAIN Low back pain is by far one of the most common ailments seen in a Chiropractic clinic.  When looking at where this pain comes from, there can be a lot of contributing factors.  The joints in the lumbar or low back can become subluxated (stuck) allowing inflammation to set in and in response the lower back muscles spasm and become painful.   The disks in the low back can become herniated or bulge, causing irritation to the associated nerves.  In this case low back pain can present as radiating pain down the legs, localized severe burning pain, muscle weakness, numbness in the legs, and in severe cases can disturb the bladder/bowel function.  There are also rare cases of low back tumors, or growths that can produce pain in the low back.  These are relating factors of why low back pain can be present, but we have found that this is just a small or narrowed look at a bigger picture.  What we have found with low back pain is the true source of pain comes from a break down in structure.  The muscles of posture or true core muscles are designed to carry the weight of the body and take load off the structure of our spine.  When there is a break down in function or posture, the muscles stop supporting the low back and all the load of the body is put on the structure/spine.  How many of you have heard of osteoarthritis or general spine arthritis? When looking at...
